Peregrine has a very cute heater. Today finally, after many unfruitful tries, some help that did not help and ordering new parts, Dickie has been able to turn it on. We now have a toasty 55 degrees in the cabin. Yesterday, I brushed the rust on the iron part (on top with the trap), and polished it with black polish, much in a Laura Ingalls manner. Can’t wait to get to the copper body. Nowadays, heaters are made out of stainless steel. The radiant heat is wonderful: it feels good, especially with high winds going on outside, and also it reminds me of Descartes who came up with his cogito while “sitting in a stove” (yes, “in” a stove, you read it right).

Hooray for heat!
